Eldorado Classics

Bastille Crack

100’ from the parking areas and one of the most visible, historic, and superb routes in the canyon. Also a good introduction to Eldorado grading—hard and sustained for 5.7.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, the Bastille
Rating: 5.7

Caylpso

An excellent introduction to Eldorado Canyon climbing. After a five-minute approach, Calypso combines crack and face climbing with a crux second pitch bulge. Most walk off after three pitches.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, the Wind Tower
Rating: 5.6
Pitches: 3 or 4

Green Spur

The crux climbs a superb overhanging corner just left of Rewritten. One can rappel after two pitches or take several routes to the summit.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, West Face, Redgarden Wall
Rating: 5.9
Pitches: 5

Rewritten

Rewritten climbs to a gorgeous summit in six pitches of hand jams, face moves, and unforgettable exposed traverses—a great route.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, West Face, Redgarden Wall
Rating: 5.7 or 5.8
Pitches: 6

Ruper

Exceptionally sustained for the grade, six of the eight pitches climb 5.7 or 5.8. A big route with an involved approach and descent, amazing traverses on pitches four and seven.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, Southwest Face, Redgarden Wall

Yellow Spur

Several times voted “best climb in Boulder.” The Yellow Spur is a big route with a complicated descent. Exposure, gymnastic movement, thin technical face climbing, a beautiful summit—as good as it gets.

Area Information: Eldorado Canyon, Tower One, Redgarden Wall
Rating: 5.10
Pitches: 7
