Vedauwoo "Next Step" Climbing Clinic
Where: Vedauwoo, WY (Just an easy 2 hours drive north of Denver.)
Prerequisites: Proficient in fitting a harness and helmet, basic knots, belaying, climbing commands,and basic rock climbing movement.
The Course
Take your skills to the next level on the amazing granite cracks and faces of Vedauwoo, Wyoming. Join one of our AMGA trained/certified rock guides for 3 days of fun and unique skills training.
We’ll give you the insider’s scoop on the Vedauwoo area, as well as share tips for sending advanced lines. Experience the comradery of getting out with like-minded people and the magic of learning chicken wings, advanced footwork, hand jamming techniques, and more.
This 3-day mini-camp is a must do, especially if you haven’t yet ventured to Vedauwoo! First come, first served camp sites are available right in the park.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1:
- Work on foot techniques such as smearing, edging, stemming, and jamming
- Work on hand techniques for cracks and faces
Day 2:
- Belaying a lead climber
- Removing and racking protection
- Understand the process for top-rope and multi-pitch climbing
Day 3:
This is a sample itinerary. The actual itinerary will be based on the group dynamics, weather considerations, venue, and guide approval.
