Certified Rock Guide

Each summer Randy, with his family and a fifth-wheel trailer in tow, joins us in Estes Park and uses his vibrant personality and boundless energy to motivate clients on any type of climbing, from rock to ice to alpine. When summer ends, Randy returns to his full-time job at the Dunn School in California, where he’s been the director of outdoor education since 1985. There, Randy oversees and guides 6th through 12th grade leadership and experiential education trips.

While attending Prescott College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, Randy’s passion for climbing and kayaking evolved into a lifestyle. He’s kayaked numerous rivers throughout the U.S. and Canada and is an ACA Certified Whitewater Kayak Instructor. He loves all forms of climbing and mountaineering, and his vertical ambitions have taken him to Europe, Canada, Scotland, Peru, Mexico and throughout the U.S. He also holds a master’s in organizational management and is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide.
