Clint Locks
Certified Single Pitch Instructor
“I began climbing in March of 1997, and was immediately impassioned. Climbing, to me, is far from a sport. It is a very deep and multi-layered experience that defines so much within me. Climbing, for me, is a social fulcrum, an outlet and a meditation, among many other things.
I believe the pinnacle of a climbing experience can only be achieved through a thoughtful balance of passion, adventure, calculation, and safety. I strive for that balance, and request it of myself, my partners and my clients…and I have a blast doing it!
Besides climbing, I love to teach both kids and adults. Aside from my work with Total Climbing, I am also an English teacher at Drake Middle School in Arvada, Colorado.
I feel like I have the perfect life, and can’t think of anything better than being able to combine two of my passions in life: climbing and teaching. So, let’s get out there and have some fun on all those big rocks!”
Clint has been instructing and guiding for the Colorado Mountain School and Boulder Rock Club for over 10 years. He is an AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor and a certified Wilderness First Responder. When he’s not at work, or spending time with his beautiful family, Clint can generally be found working some obscure trad line in Eldorado Canyon.
