Chris Burk
Chris’s climbing career began in a forgotten granite quarry hidden away in the woods of New York. By the age of fourteen he had put up several classic first ascents of the 1.5” steel cables running up its steep walls. Now that this has been posted on the internet, he will have to apologize to his parents…
Chris began his formal education at Cornell University – engineering during the week, climbing in the Gunks and Adirondacks on the weekends. Soon after graduating he moved to Boulder to be close to big mountains, blue skies, and like-minded people.
Since then Chris has been enjoying warm evenings cragging in Eldorado Canyon, hard alpine weekends in Rocky Mountain National Park, and regular climbing trips throughout the US and beyond, all the while working toward AMGA certification in the rock and alpine disciplines. He especially likes taking time off from his day job to get outside and guide!
