Bree Smouse

Certified Single Pitch Instructor

After a childhood of outdoor adventures in Bozeman Montana, Bree moved to the skiers’ mecca of Alta, Utah. She spent an entire season charging downhill and shredding the cold smoke before enrolling at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She graduated with a BA in English Literature while maximizing her time in the Rocky Mountains.

While in Boulder, Bree was introduced to the sport of climbing. She took to the vertical world immediately and has never looked back. She is a vital member at the Boulder Rock Club working as an Instructor, Jr. Team Coach and Indoor Programming Assistant. She also guides for the Colorado Mountain School.

Bree is a Wilderness First Responder and an AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor. She has experience skiing and climbing throughout the U.S. as well as Argentina, France and Thailand. While her favorite climbing locale is the Utah desert, she feels just as at home on the walls of Eldorado Canyon.

When not climbing or skiing, Bree enjoys yoga, running and reading novels. If you visit the Boulder Rock Club, then you also know Bree is a crossword puzzle maven. Stop in and say hi.
